Here at Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club we aim to make being on the water fun, enjoyable and accessible to all.
Located at the end of Sulphur Point we provide a range of sailing and windsurfing courses for all ages and abilities.
The stunning views and gentle sea breeze of Tauranga Harbour creates the best possible environment to learn to sail.
Our YNZ and RYA qualified instructors follow the basic skills syllabus provided by Yachting New Zealand with excellent sailing equipment.
Upcoming Sailing School Programs:
Spring Holiday Program:
Our holiday program will run from September 28th to October 2nd. We go from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm each day. We'll offer classes from Levels 1 - 3 as well as a racing program for experienced sailors.
Term 4 Sailing:
Term 4 sailing classes will begin on October 10th, 11th, and 12th. Classes are either after school starting at 4pm or a weekend morning/afternoon. Check the registration page for details. The classes will run for 10 weeks, ending on December 12, 13th, and 14th. If we miss any classes due to staff shortage or poor weather then we will try to reschedule a day within the term. Adult classes will run 2 courses, the first from October 10/11th to November 7/8th.
Christmas Holiday Program:
Our Christmas holiday program will run from Sunday, December 20th to Thursday, December 24th. We go from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm each day. We'll offer classes from Levels 1 - 3 as well as a racing program for experienced sailors.
